Spitfire WiP day 3 - Completeby *dustysculptures

Traditional Art / Sculpture / Models

Final day was this past Wednesday~ Unfortunately my camera ran out of batteries so no step by step. But there aren't too many differences between day 2. Mostly detailing and clean up. (which, to be honest, is probably the longest, least dramatic step; so no love loss). These pics are before she went into the oven.

She was baked yesterday, given a nice once over in post, and now sits comfortably on my desk ^^

How do you get it so smooth? ;;
Also what clay do you use?

I use a combination of polymer clays namely: Sculpey III and Premo ^^ To get it smooth I use rubbing alcohol (90% Iso-Propanol found at any Pharmacy) and tons of time.

Well I do wear a glove and use half cut Q-tips for hard to reach parts. But other than that, its all smoothed by hand.
