Part 2 for my commission for :iconwandererd:

Part 1: My Sweet Fallen Angel 1 by dustysculptures

The Cello was fairly new idea. I'd done some work with the violin before but a largely free standing cello (or technically contrabass)  was kinda new.
I also find her mane and tail the right amount of detail without betraying her show appearance. I hope that goes over well.
The dress was an absolute blast to make. There over all wasn't enough detail in the reference material for me to go on, so I basically had free reign on that. The skirt, the wings, all of it took some thinking and had a blast with. I do hope it shows :3

Finally the face. I have the original pic referenced down below. She's smiling in it. I didn't think that was apropo to the scene. At this point in the story, she's kinda been down on her luck. Ponies shooting at her, post-apocalyptic wastelands, and just general survivor's guilt were creeping in on her psych. The moment depicted in the pic, I read as a much more somber moment where she played her cello (or technically contrabass) as a means to let out her feelings.

So yeah thats my lil commentary on this piece. Octavia is to come tomorrow~

My absolute favorite thing about this is the wings. My God, those are beautiful! You did an incredible job in making cuts to give them the appearance of real feathers. Next is the dress, which has a very real and gentle "flowy" look to it, and the hair and tail, which likewise have wonderful texture to them that make it feel more alive. While I'm not partial to characters that look oddly depressed (when I think of music and instruments, the first thing that comes to mind is happiness, although I am aware that sad music exists in abundance), I will readily say that her face is also carefully crafted and encompasses the look very well. If there is anything I would pick at in this work, it's the fetlocks, which are, from the angles I can see, equally spaced and at equal length to each other, making them look too organized.

My vote on the impact is entirely based on that personal opinion, though, and should not be used as a basis for others. Undoubtedly beautiful, incredible craftsmanship, and a piece that makes me overjoyed to think that you will be making even more.
